Design Process
Empathise
Secondary and user research conducted to find:
-
Supermarkets are designed to encourage shoppers to spend more time in-store, buy more, and buy more expensive items.
-
Shoppers say that the most stressful elements include: other shoppers and crowds, staff attitude and training, store layout and cost.
-
Shopping with a list reduces overall time in store, costs of purchase, and tends towards healthier outcomes such as reducing obesity.

Define
-
Creation of personas, user-stories and user-journeys to establish 'as-is' and 'to-be' pathways for the app to have value.
-
A competitor audit identified a gap in the app features of shareable lists and confirmed an opportunity for a novel feature to identify the best shopping time around users’ schedules and crowds.
-
Value proposition:
-
Whether you’re a main shopper or a little-and-often shopper, find the best time to avoid the crowds
-
Compare prices ahead of time, knowing you’ll get the best deal and stick to your budget
-
Get taken straight to the items you want in store, saving time searching the distracting shelves
-

Ideate & Prototype
-
Brainstorming concepts using techniques such as 'Crazy 8s'
-
Generating wireframes and prototypes using Figma.

Next Steps
